I couldn’t find a reliable list of hedge mazes anywhere. And boy oh boy do I love a hedge maze. So I have taken it upon myself, as a good citizen of the Australian web (and self-proclaimed undercover librarian), to gather the whereabouts of every hedge maze and collate into one easy-to-navigate map.

Caveats on inclusion. I have included a few timber-wall mazes which incorporate living hedge elements. Sure, they might not be 100% hedge, but life’s hard enough without excluding mazes on a technicality. Under that same spirit, I’ve also included a seasonal sunflower maze because that sounds lovely.

On the other hand, I have not included any of what are now commonly called ‘labyrinths’. These are typically single path designs marked on the ground, with no walls whatsoever. Labyrinths are contemplative rather than puzzle based. I have some standards.
